Reliance Jio, in particular, catalyzed India’s digital revolution with affordable 4G and 5G. Now, Reliance is taking a bold leap into the AI era. The company is constructing the world’s largest AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, marking a major milestone in India’s digital and artificial intelligence landscape.

Key Highlights:

Massive Capacity: The planned data center will have a capacity of 3 GW (gigawatts) — five times larger than Microsoft’s current largest 600 MW facility. Investment Scale: The project is estimated to cost between $20–30 billion (₹1.6–2.4 lakh crore)

Purpose: To build robust AI computing infrastructure in India, support AI-driven apps and services, and make India globally competitive in AI development. Timeline: Expected to be operational by 2027, creating thousands of jobs. Applications: Primarily designed for AI-based applications across telecom, healthcare, education, entertainment, and finance. Global Collaboration: Reliance has partnered with NVIDIA, which will supply cutting-edge Blackwell AI processors for this mega facility. AI Innovation Hub: This center will accelerate the development of Reliance’s own AI platform “Jio Brain,” aimed at enabling fast decision-making, precise predictions, and deep customer understanding tailored for the Indian market. Green Powered: The entire data center will run on green energy — solar, wind, and hydrogen — sourced from Reliance’s nearby green energy complex in Jamnagar, promoting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. Strategic Vision: Mukesh Ambani, after connecting the nation with Jio, now champions the vision “AI Everywhere For Everyone,” aiming to democratize AI access across India.

Jamnagar — already home to the world’s largest oil refinery and now a major green energy hub — is set to become a global capital of AI infrastructure. This development positions Reliance and India at the forefront of the world’s AI-driven future.
